Projects that are on the needles and in our hearts:

Community Knitting

Free yarn, for use in any community service project, is available at all of our meetings. Needles are also available. If you need any please ask.

Preemie Hats needed

NICU's and hospitals are so appreciative of our preemie caps ~ they love getting them in multiple sizes and in all colors. We have had a specific request from Strong NICU for themed preemie hats for the seasons. They would love pumpkin and apple hats for fall, Christmas/ holiday hats, and perhaps red/white/blue for Memorial Day and/or the Fourth of July. The link above has several free preemie cap patterns for Community Knitting.

The Rochester Knitting Guild has participated in donating to this program for the last several years, and encourages members to participate again this year! A free pattern is on the link above, and one for 2 needle mittens can be found here

Call for Mittens, Scarves, Hats, Lap Robes

Many organizations ask for donations of hand knitted hats, scarves, mittens, lap robes, or any other garment or accessory, to distribute at Christmas time. Know that any item you contribute will be more than appreciated and will go where it is needed. Free patterns are all over the internet ~ this is just one link to start with.
